# Invite team members

> Invite colleagues to your Kero account, manage pending invitations and remove team members.

Kero makes it easy to collaborate with colleagues by inviting them to join your account.

Each team member uses their own Kero login, allowing them to work within the same account without sharing login credentials.

If a colleague already uses Kero through another account, they can access your account using their existing login.

## View your team

To see the people who have access to your Kero account:

1. Sign in to [Kero](https://app.kero.chat).
2. Select **Team** from the left navigation menu.
3. Review the members and invitations listed on the Team page.

The Team page displays each person's email address, status, first name, last name and invitation date, where applicable.

### Understand team member statuses

| Status | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Invited** | An invitation has been created, but the person has not yet completed joining the account. |
| **Active** | The person has joined the account and can access it using their Kero login. |

You can select **Refresh** to update the Team list.

## Invite a new team member

**1. Open Team**

From the Kero navigation menu, select **Team**.

**2. Select Add member**

Select **+ Add member** in the top-right corner.

The **New Team Member** screen will open.

**3. Enter their email address**

Enter the email address of the person you want to invite in the **Email Address** field.

Check that the address is correct before continuing.

**4. Send the invitation**

Select **Add**.

Kero creates the invitation and sends an invitation email to the recipient.

The person will appear in your Team list with the status **Invited** until they complete the invitation process.

## What happens after you send an invitation?

The next steps depend on whether the person is new to Kero or already has a Kero login.

**New Kero user**

If the person is joining Kero for the first time:

1. They receive an invitation email containing a signup link.
2. They follow the link to register their Kero login.
3. They create their own password and set up multi-factor authentication (MFA).
4. Once registration is complete, they can access the Kero account they were invited to.

> [!TIP]
>
> Each team member should use their own login. Never share passwords or MFA verification codes with colleagues.

**Existing Kero user**

If the person already has a Kero login associated with another account:

1. They receive a notification that they've been invited to another Kero account.
2. They continue using their existing Kero login credentials.
3. The additional account becomes available through the account switcher.

They don't need to register again or create a separate password.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Kero supports access to multiple accounts using one login. Use the account switcher at the top of the navigation menu to move between accounts you have access to.

## Manage pending invitations

If a team member hasn't yet joined your account, you can manage their invitation from the Team page.

Locate the person with the status **Invited** and select the **three-dot menu (⋮)** at the end of their row.

The following options are available:

| Option | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Copy Signup Link** | Copies the invitation signup link so you can share it directly with the intended recipient. |
| **Resend Invitation** | Sends the invitation email again. |
| **Delete Invitation** | Cancels the pending invitation. |

### Resend an invitation

If the recipient hasn't received their invitation:

1. Open **Team**.
2. Find their email address with the status **Invited**.
3. Select the **three-dot menu (⋮)**.
4. Select **Resend Invitation**.

Ask the recipient to check their inbox and spam or junk folder.

### Copy the signup link

If you need to share the signup link directly:

1. Open **Team**.
2. Find the pending invitation.
3. Select the **three-dot menu (⋮)**.
4. Select **Copy Signup Link**.
5. Share the link securely with the intended recipient.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Invitation links should only be shared with the person they were created for. Do not publish invitation links or share them in public channels.

### Cancel a pending invitation

If the invitation was sent to the wrong address or is no longer needed:

1. Open **Team**.
2. Find the pending invitation.
3. Select the **three-dot menu (⋮)**.
4. Select **Delete Invitation**.

The pending invitation will be removed.

If you need to invite the person again later, create a new invitation.

## Remove an existing team member

You can remove a team member who should no longer have access to your Kero account.

**1. Open Team**

Select **Team** from the left navigation menu.

**2. Find the team member**

Locate the person you want to remove from the list of active members.

**3. Open the member menu**

Select the **three-dot menu (⋮)** at the end of their row.

**4. Select Remove Member**

Select **Remove Member** and follow any confirmation prompts displayed by Kero.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Removing someone from your team removes their access to this Kero account. If they have access to other Kero accounts, those accounts remain separate.

## Team access and administrator permissions

Inviting someone to your Kero account does not automatically grant them administrator or billing permissions.

Kero does not currently provide self-service roles and permissions management.

If a team member requires additional administrator access, the account owner must contact Kero Support. A Kero specialist will configure the required permissions in the backend.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Billing access**
>
> Billing Account is available to the account owner and team members who have been granted administrator access.
>
> For more information, see [Manage your billing account](https://kero.chat/help/product/account-management/manage-your-billing-account).

## Need help?

If someone hasn't received their invitation, check that their email address is correct and try **Resend Invitation**.

If they already use Kero, ask them to sign in with their existing credentials and check the account switcher.

For assistance with invitations, team access or administrator permissions, contact Kero Support.
