How to Enable RCS Messaging on Your iPhone/Apple Mobile Device.

Hey, iPhone/iOS users! Are you ready to join the excitement and finally get access to the cool updates and features that Android users have been raving about? Apple has announced that it is also rolling out RCS chats!

What does this mean for you? As an iMessage user, you can now connect with a global community through RCS Business Messaging (RBM)! That means you’ll be able to chat and receive messages not only from other iPhone users but also from Android devices and businesses. RBCS chats are provided by network operators. Once your device connects to your mobile network, communication between the Apple device and the network provider and their partners occurs to authenticate your device to set up RCS chats. Some of the information exchanged during the authentication process includes the current IP address, IMEI, IMSI and your mobile number.

This means you’re set for high-quality chats with stunning images, videos, and links! Plus, RCS Business Messages come with verified sender identities, ensuring that you engage reliably and have a top-notch experience with a brand. We know you’ve loved those blue message bubbles, but now it’s time to embrace the fun of green bubbles and the new possibilities that come with them!

Enabling RCS Messaging on your iPhone

Here’s how to enable RCS Messaging on your iPhone and join the evolution of mobile messaging.

Make sure you’re running iOS 18 or later and check if your mobile carrier supports RCS. To do that:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.

2. Tap on General.

3. Select About.

4. Tap on Carrier or Network Provider.

Look for the IMS status; if it says Voice, SMS & RCS, you’re all set!

Next, let’s get RCS messaging turned on:

1. Go back to Settings.

2. Scroll down and tap on Apps.

3. Select Messages.

4. Find RCS Messaging under Text Messaging.

5. Flip the toggle next to RCS Messaging to turn it on!

Just a heads-up: there might be a tiny delay before RCS chats are fully activated. But once it’s ready, you’ll be able to enjoy RCS chats with friends and receive RCS Business Messages from businesses.
