Welcome to Kero! This quick start guide will help you create your account, choose a messaging channel and take the first steps towards sending business messages. You can get started with SMS, WhatsApp Business or RCS for Business. Each channel has different setup requirements, so you only need to follow the steps relevant to your business.

Before you begin

To register your Kero account, you’ll need:
  • An email address you can access to verify your registration.
  • Your business and contact details.
Depending on your chosen messaging channel, you may also need additional business information, access to your Meta Business Account or branding assets. You don’t need to prepare RCS logos, banners or verification documents unless you’re setting up RCS for Business.

Get started in three steps

1

Register and verify your account

Register your Kero account using your business details.Check your inbox for the verification code sent by Kero. Enter the code on the verification screen and select Verify.Once verified, you can access your Kero account.
2

Set up your billing account

Create your Kero billing account before setting up a messaging channel. You’ll be asked to provide your billing details, but you don’t need to add a payment card to complete Kero billing registration.
Some messaging providers, including Meta for WhatsApp Business, have separate billing or payment requirements.
3

Choose your first messaging channel

Select the channel you’d like to start with.

WhatsApp Business

Connect your WhatsApp Business Account and prepare to test messaging.

SMS

Set up your SMS Agent and prepare to send messages.

RCS for Business

Create your Brand and Agent, then prepare to test.

When can you start sending?

The answer depends on your messaging channel.

Test before going live

Before sending messages to your customers, we recommend testing your setup. Depending on your channel, you can:
  • Send an SMS to a test number.
  • Test WhatsApp messaging using an eligible test recipient and the available testing workflow.
  • Add an RCS test device and test your Agent before launch.
Testing helps you check message content and channel configuration before sending to a larger audience.
Being able to send a test message does not necessarily mean your channel is approved for live customer messaging.

What happens next?

Once your channel is configured, you can explore Kero’s contacts, templates, Direct Messages and Campaigns features. Start with your preferred channel. You can add other messaging channels later as your business needs grow.
